The best chippers are what they are because they have mastered the basic fundamentals.
To start with you should set yourself up with most of your weight on your front foot and then keep it there as you swing through.
The second key is to keep your hands ahead of the ball and to let your left hand (for conventional, right-hand golfers) lead your swing through the ball.
